Fat Shadow - "Foot of Love" LP

Really, this is one of the best new albums I've heard in a long long time, and I'm not just saying that because my sister is in the band. It's Daun and Chris (from basement rockers The Door-Keys/Landlord) combined with Jeff and Erin (from Pink Razors/Erin Tobey) playing music that is altogether timeless. It rocks hard, it grooves smooth, they're a reincarnated 70's rock band playing for the kids of today. Go see them, they just left for a month long east coast tour! Buy their record from Houseplant or download it on Bandcamp! I might just send it out if you order one, because I'm housesitting for them!

The Boy Who Could Fly - "Brain Cloud"

The Boy Who Could Fly is the wonderful Kari Jorgensen. She just released this album for her recent marathon tour with Paul Baribeau. Kari's songs are tender and intelligent, with great melodies and guitar lines. It has a really nice warm home recorded sound--you know she knows what she's doing. I h4ly recommend this album, it hasn't left my car stereo since I got it! On Bandcamp it's a name-your-price download, so be sure to give her lots and lots of money because she's great.

Algernon Cadwallader - new album

Aren't you excited already? To hell with what people say about them sounding like Cap'n Jazz! Face it! This band is incredibly talented and everybody knows it! They're either in the process of or just finished recording a new album, and I have a feeling it's going to be a true gem. I hope they have it for their upcoming summer tour extravaganza! Go see them, they're probably coming to your town! Watch in wonder as Joe perfectly plays the most ridiculous guitar wizardry as he is either crowd-surfed or surfed-on, because at least one of those things usually happens at their shows!

Sleeping Bag - "Rental"

One of the most memorable television performances of the last decade! Sleeping Bag is a local Bloomington band who recently performed on our public access channel. Watch as Lewis (Busman's Holiday) hams it up for the camera. These are some of the most stand-up gentlemen in Bloomington, and this video really showcases their classiness. What showmanship!
