Joyce Manor - Self-Titled

I can't stop listening to this Joyce Manor "Self-Titled" LP on 6131 Records. Granted I dug the band's first couple of releases but this album is an amazing collection of rough-around-the-edges pop/punk that takes it up a notch. Clocking in at 10 songs and a mere 18 minutes, you can easily listen to record three times in under an hour and not get sick of it. In fact, I recommend doing just that. For fans of Jawbreaker and Weezer.

Archipelago - Have Here

I guess this has been available for a while but I still don't think enough people know how great this record is. Available from the cool folks at Quote Unquote, Archipelago's "Have Here" is an indie rock/pop album that still gets a ton of play from me. For fans of Elliott Smith, Wheat and Seam.

Restorations

It's been a while since I've been this stoked on a band. Restorations' upcoming "Self-Titled" LP is going to blow people away.

I'm gonna quote our buddy Zac Hobbs here who says it best in reference to Restorations' growing discography: "These records sound like getting old. This band epitomizes what it feels like to get older and deal with the fact that you are old. They embrace every shitty and amazing aspect of not being a young brash punk kid anymore."

Makes sense, right? Just listen.

By Surprise - Final Edit

Studio footage from the upcoming By Surprise LP, "Mountain Smashers", on the consistently amazing Topshelf Records. You can hear some of the new joints in this little video. Along with the upcoming Restorations LP, the By Surprise album is my most played of 2011 so far. If you were a fan of the Everyone Everywhere record that Tiny Engines put out last year you should seek this band out!

Is there anything that we missed this week? Let us know in the comments. Next Monday's post will be by Jake Philley of Mountain Asleep. Stay tuned!
