Hi:
I run a zine called Dairy River (http://www.dairyriver.com). We are starting to put together our ninth volume. We are looking for collaborators/contributors.
LIKE WHAT IS OUR DEAL? Yeah, so good question. I spent the better part of a year tracking down the architect who designed the Pizza Hut roof. If that answers your question. This is our stated goal: "Dairy River is an internet-only journal focusing on detritus, ephemera,
minutia, and miscellany. We are particularly interested in the built
environment, remnants of the industrial revolution, and the more obscure
sociological aspects of our collective (musical) consciousness."
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR: Basically anything interesting. Mostly non-fiction on themes like the evolution of area codes, prime locations for Panera Breads, aggregated data (generally), the Dewey Decimal system, alphabets, symbols, flags, codes, robots. Fiction will be considered if: (1) it is ridiculous, extravagant, and/or overbearing or (2) it deals with the above themes. Art is always considered. History/sociology of music (especially post-punk) is rarely turned away.
