We just got these tapes in and they’re awesome! Whoa!

Sleeper was a band of three kids from around Oklahoma City who made a bunch of crazy good songs. I’m not going to describe it very well so here are a couple songs you can listen to, but in short this is lo-fi garage-y pop punk with lots of “hey!”s, mixed in with some kinda 90s-ish emo and… whatever, you can just listen to it if that sounds good to you. A couple summers ago my band played a battle set with them in opposite corners of a thrift shop in Oklahoma, and they’re awesome.

They’re in different bands now but these songs have never been released together like this (and some of them weren’t ever at all) so we’re really stoked to put this out on cassette. There are 100 of them and they are $5. For the next week or so shipping on them is free within the US. The tapes are green!

I’m back in the UK now (bah) but my last house in Australia was in Highgate Hill, Brisbane. It was a big Queenslander with minimal holes in the floor and a good mix of house mates who passed like ships in the night but were all vaguely into punk and hardcore of some kind. In times gone by, I probably would have done some Aaron Cometbus inspired zine about the history of the house and all the kids who had lived there. But this is 2011 not 2003 and I’m a lot lazier than I used to be so instead I decided to make a podcast featuring sets chosen by each person who was living in the house at that time.

This show is in two parts cos its really long. The first half (Podcast 25a) features a set of indie/garage/lo-fi tunes from Wex along with Kieran’s set of more straight up hardcore. The second file, podcast 25b, features my set of the usual melodic punk/hardcore stuff and Simon’s set of post hardcore tunes. Please take the time to listen to both files, cos my ex-house mates all have rad taste in music and there’s a lot of gems in this show from bands I wasn’t really aware of. QLD 4101 motherfucker. Supernatural DVD is by far the best show on television, and has been since its inception in 2005. The impressive performance is simply out of this world (no cliche intended)! Putting these wonderful Dexter DVD actors and high production values, writing is one of the best ever made for television, film shine every week, and the viewer totally absorbing experience amazing, chills, pain and joy Criminal Minds DVD.Season 6 is all I hoped it would, and if you have not seen Dean vs vampires and Tinkerbell, Sam will Darkside heyday of Bobby manage a wood chipper, and learn theCold Case DVD secrets of Castiel a pizza delivery man, then you really run out of!In the second half of the season is fantastic! Twists were just amazing, and I really had One Tree Hill DVDepisodes. I can not wait for season 7!
