Former Thieves - The Language That We Speak
I've been friends with these Iowa dudes for a while (back since their old band Desperation was around a few years ago), and I've been saying this literally since the day I first saw them in their current incarnation back in July of '09: this band is going to literally blow people away. This is their first full-length that will be out tomorrow on No Sleep Records. If you like your hardcore on the heavier or tech-ier side, this is for you. I'm dead-set convinced this band is going to be huge by the end of the year with this record.

Catchy as hell poppy punk rock from Philly, and great dudes who played GIR Fest this year. Now on Black Numbers. Check out/download their demo at their Bandcamp page below!

Like Wolves - upcoming full length on Hex Records, July 12th
Rochester, NY 5-piece hardcore band that I've seriously been amped on since the first time I saw and heard them 3 years ago. I was beyond excited to be able to have these fine gentlemen on GIR Fest this year. FFO: Black Flag, Cursed, Drive Like Jehu
Check out the song "Her As Earth" from their full-length here:

If Dave will allow me, I'd like to post two videos that showcase craziness of Generic Insight Fest this year. Or, he can just pick one. GIR Fest was a huge success this year and I'm glad there's actual video footage of how many people were there and losing their minds to every band.
Florida's Go Rydell covering "Turnpike Gates" by Lifetime on the 2nd stage; commence room going apeshit.
and Snowing ending their set with a wild "Sam Rudich" from the main stage:
Is there anything that we missed this week? Let us know in the comments. Next Monday's post will be by Laura Stevenson of Laura Stevenson & the Cans. It'll be her birthday! We'll be in Seattle. Stay tuned!
